Investment Pieces

Last year, I bought my first pair of Christian Louboutin heels. Adding the Pigalle Follies 100mm to my closet is a decision I don’t regret whatsoever. I’ve been fortunate enough to add a few other investment pieces to my closet over the years and I’m always looking for something else to add, but before doing so, I always ask myself the questions below:

  1. Is it timeless?
  2. What’s the cost per wear?
  3. Have I thought this through?
  4. Don’t settle
  5. What it is going to take to maintain?

Throughout my research I’ve found a list of investment pieces every woman should consider adding to her closet if she’s able to. I’m a big budgeter and don’t spend beyond by means, but every once in a while it’s nice to treat yourself.

  1. A tailored black blazer
  2. A little black dress
  3. A beautiful timepiece
  4. A handbag
  5. Signature jewelry
  6. A classic trench coat
  7. A pair of beautiful classic shoes

My Go-To Eye Care Products

The minute I turned 19 I made the conscious decision to start using anti-aging eye products. I continued to do so for three years and then for no reason at all, took a three-year hiatus. It wasn’t until I turned 25 started noticing some of those lovely lines (I see you crow’s feet) I immediately dialed up my dermatologist and asked what over the counter products I could start using again as a preventative method.

As with all anti-aging products, moisture and collagen are key ingredients to keep in mind, as these slowly diminish in your body over time. After a conversation with my dermatologist and some additional research, I came across two products that come highly recommended across the board: Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream and Olay Eyes – Eye Lifting Serum. I usually go back and forth between the two, but these are the ONLY two products I will use.

Peter Thomas Roth – Cucumber De-Tox Hydra-Gel Eye Patches: Recently just bought these gems and really wondering why it took me soooo long to get them. They are literally amazing! My eyes felt instantly refreshed after using them..can’t wait to use them again this week.

Sephora Collection – Eye Mask: My favorite is the rose mask; it brightens and is ultra-moisturizing

Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream: I use this every morning before putting my makeup on and every night before going bed.

Fun tip: Keep your pads / masks in the fridge and it will feel nice and cool when you apply.

Note: Any and all anti-aging things I do, are for preventative reasons! I have NEVER gotten Botox, but I’m not opposed to it or anything else down the line. I have had fillers once, and would do it again in a heartbeat. From my weekly peels, to my use of SPF 100, to using my ridiculous wide brimmed hats to not drinking, to weekly face masks / scrubs, to not drinking, everything I do is because it makes me feel good.

GlamGlow

As someone that’s tried everything under the sun for clear skin (thanks adult acne), GlamGlow is one of the few products that has helped my skin get back to what it was. Along with a few other creams and weekly peels, GlamGlow has helped me soooo much. Thought I would share some background details on the company and the product that has worked best for me.

From the GlamGlow site:
GLAMGLOW® was founded by Glenn & Shannon Dellimore in 2010 exclusively for backstage and professional use in Hollywood’s Entertainment, Music, Fashion & Award industries.

In 2011, GLAMGLOW® was made available for retail and has took the world by storm in the months that followed. Distribution has now increased to 86 countries with over 6,500 Luxury Retail Stores, Spa Back-Bars, Luxury Hotels, Airlines, and Cruise Lines.

Over the past 4 years GLAMGLOW® has grown from a conversation into an incredible success story, having won a wealth of beauty awards, being granted a Patent for our TEAOXI® real leaf technology and becoming globally recognized for fast-acting, innovative mud treatments that deliver instant, visible results.

My FAVORITE GlamGlow products are the Supermud Clearing Treatment mask & cleanser. Both are a dark gray when  putting on, but dry / wash off in to a light gray. I find both are incredibly effective to help combat a few of my common skin concerns. While the price tag for both is a little steep, I find both are worth every penny.

I use the cleanser every morning and night along with my Clarisonic Mia 2 scrub brush and the mask 2-3 times a week depending on what is going on with my skin that week. Being diligent with these products and a few other things on a weekly basis, keep my skin  looking almost blemish free, most of the time.
